When you archive, tier, or sync data using StorNext Storage Manager and FlexTier™/FlexSync™, your files remain known to the shared storage environment — what’s often called a “single namespace.” That means all files remain visible and retrievable directly in StorNext, even when they reside in object storage, the cloud, or tape. StorNext also enables partial file and object restore, so you can retrieve just the exact segments you need from archive media, saving time and cost — a capability most other systems lack.

StorNext is ‘Ethernet-Forward’ and optimized for direct Ethernet client connections and Ethernet-attached storage volumes to help customers maximize their Ethernet infrastructure investment. It also fully supports Fibre Channel client and storage connections for environments that require them. In either case, StorNext provides optimized file sharing over Ethernet protocols like SMB, SMB-MC, and NFS to ensure seamless cross-platform collaboration.

StorNext lets you design the mix of performance, scale, and economics that best fits your workflow. Even HDD-based StorNext systems can deliver multiple GB/s throughput to dozens of connected clients, ideal for post-production editors and similar workloads. With F-Series NVMe all-flash storage, performance scales from 40 GB/s to over 90 GB/s, enabling the fastest possible ingest, playback, and streaming performance. StorNext environments scale out easily to add capacity, increase throughput, or expand the number of clients without disruption.
